POWERAGE
“A hard rockin’ band with a youthful edge”

The Crawford and Minett brothers whose ages range from 13 to 18 have been performing rock classics in venues mainly around Newcastle and the Hunter Valley in Australia since early 2005.
Boosted by stage-storming performances on the NRL Footy show at Sydney Entertainment Centre at their then very young ages ranging from 9 to 13, the boys have continued to grow and move on to develop their own brand of no-frills hard-rocking original music which they now perform. The boys have a CD out called “Get Ready” with 5 originals songs, written by brothers Ben and Zac in the band. This is available from their myspace page and soon on iTunes.

The band is based in Hinton, a little country town west of Newcastle. They have now been together for nearly four years, and are committed to writing power rock songs and taking their music to the world. Not only that, but the band’s music has continued to receive a huge amount of positive feedback wherever they go and has them now standing firm in not only their belief in the quality of their music but themselves and that they will make a career from their passion.

Powerage Achievements include;

• Winners of the NRL Footy Show’s No Talent Time Gold in 2005, performing at the Sydney Entertainment Centre
• Scored 5th place in “Global Battle of the Bands” at Darling Harbour Sydney 2006
• Opened for top Australian band Grinspoon in Port Stephens, 2007
• Performed at the Maitland Bike and Hotrod Show with The Angels 2007 and again 2008
• Pre-match entertainment at Energy Australia stadium for the Newcastle Knights Football-2007 and 2008
• Performed at the Rock City Nightspot in Patong, Phuket, Thailand, 2007
• Performed at Newcastle Foreshore Flood Relief Concert – 2007
• Maitland Pubfest-2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008
• Max Merritt Benefit Concert in Melbourne, 2007
• Newcastle Surfest 2008
• Have appeared on “ABC’s Rage” with two of their original songs
• Placed 4th, receiving the Encouragement Award at this year’s Youth Rock 2008 (a state-wide school band competition)
• Appeared on SBS the “Crew Program”, Youth Rock Segment 2008
• Supported Matchbox Twenty and Thirsty Merc, April 2008 Tempus Two Winery Hunter Valley
• Currently playing a range of clubs, pubs and outdoor events
Played 3 songs LIVE on Channel [V] (Australian PAY TV)
Released their first CD in March, 2009
AND of course represented AUSTRALASIA in the World Final of GBOB 2008-and were the RUNNERS-UP!!!!!
