GBOB winners grab AC/DC support slot

Drive Like Maria, who won the GBOB Challenge Netherlands Final and came second in the World Finals in 2005, have got themselves the much sought after support slot when AC/DC play the Amsterdam Arena on June 23…
The powerhouse three-piece – featuring Bjorn Awouters 0n drums/lead vocals, Marco Simoni on bass and Nitzan Hoffmann on guitar (pictured) – have been keeping themselves busy since their GBOB success with festival dates in Mexico, a US tour and recording. Released in March this year their album, “Elmwood” was mixed by John Congleton (Black Mountain, The Polyphonic Spree, The Roots, Modest Mouse etc) and reached No.3 in the itunes chart and No.51 in the Dutch album charts.
After a sold-out tour, tons of airplay and rave reviews in the media, playing to over 68,000 people at the AC/DC gig is the icing on the cake for this hard rocking and hard working band. Check them out live if you get a chance.
