Lady Fire are hottest in the Faroes

When rock band Lady Fire played their GBOB Challenge qualifying heat it was their first ever gig. And now their second gig has seen them win the Faroe Islands national final. Which means that their third gig will be the GBOB Challenge World Final in London.
And should they win the World Final, they will have done it by playing just two songs three times! With a first prize of $100,000 up for grabs, that means they will have earned over 4,000 dollars a minute!
Beginner’s luck? We doubt it. They needed to beat some serious competition including mellow pop rockers Person who took second place and instrumental electronic noize trio nin10do who took third.
The fact is, although Lady Fire are a new band, they are no strangers to the GBOB Challenge. Singer Filip Mortensen, drummer Andreas Dalsgaard, and keyboard player Hanus Mikael Andreassen all played in The Story Ends, who won second place in 2007.
This time they had more luck. Maybe because their new guitarist is Heini Niclasen, who won the GBOB Challenge World Final 2007 with Boys In A Band – who he still plays with by the way.
