Tea Break the best in Belgrade

6. October 2008

Tea Break

In the thrilling national final of the GBOB Challenge Serbia – featuring 15 fantastic finalists who had progressed through qualifying heats over the past few months – Tea Break have taken first prize. This means that the four-piece melodic punk rock band from Belgrade will now be heading to London for the World Finals in December.

The atmosphere on the night was positively electric. A live audience of around 1,200 at the SCK venue enjoyed some fine performances from the finalists as well as guest appearances from Art Diler from Serbia and GBOB Romania 2007 winners Grimus, who received a particularly warm welcome from those present.

A further prize on the night was offered in which audience voting could send one band to Romania to take part in the Music Europe Festival and the excellent band Destination won that prize.

After the judges awarded them the top prize, Tea Break promised the audience and people of Serbia that they would not disappoint them in the World Final! They are young, talented and believe that they are ready for the world. We hope the World is ready for them…
