Can a rock guitarist make beautiful music with a diva? That’s the question that ultimately found its answer in the danish sonic rock band ‘Metro’.
Blake a rock guitarist and Miriam a vocal diva have for some time now been musical collaborators. However helping each other out simply as hired hands was a far cry away from actually rubbing shoulders together as co-creators of a band. That was something they had tried in the past and due to musical differences ended up truely testing their sanity.
Anyhow at the start of 2007, Miriam and Blake were asked out of the blue to jam with a local bassist (Rene) and drummer (Klaus). The jam went suprisingly well and there was an immediete connection that concluded with a decision for Blake and Miriam to go off and write some songs.
Blake and Miriam started demo’ing songs and playing them to Rene and Klaus, who themselves had very strong musical opinions of their own. Though instead of being a hinderance, Rene and Klaus’s honest opions seemed somehow to magically unite Blake and Miriam’s songwriting to the point that everyone began to be genuinely excited about the band.
A great openess between the members of ‘Metro’ had emerged and allowed for the freedom to painlessly throw away many songs one after another until a unique sound was slowly birthed that somehow began to satisfy them all....
Viva la ‘Metro’lution…
